Classic Margarita Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 oz (60 ml) Tequila (preferably Blanco or Silver)
- 1 oz (30 ml) Triple Sec (e.g., Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
- 1 oz (30 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) Agave Syrup (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
- Ice cubes
- Coarse Salt (for rimming the glass)
- Lime wedge (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Glass:
- Run a lime wedge around the rim of a cocktail glass (traditionally a coupe or margarita glass).
- Dip the rim into a plate of coarse salt to coat it evenly. Set the glass aside.
- Mix the Cocktail:
- In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and agave syrup (if using).
- Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and mix.
- Serve:
- Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice (optional, if you like it on the rocks).
- Strain the cocktail into the glass.
- Garnish:
- Add a lime wedge or wheel on the rim of the glass.
- Enjoy:
- Serve immediately and savor your freshly made Margarita!
Tips:
- Adjust the lime juice and agave syrup to suit your taste.
- For a frozen Margarita, blend all the ingredients with a cup of ice instead of shaking.
- Try experimenting with flavored salts for the rim, such as chili-lime salt, for a twist.
