Classic Margarita Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz (60 ml) Tequila (preferably Blanco or Silver)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Triple Sec (e.g., Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) Agave Syrup (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
  • Ice cubes
  • Coarse Salt (for rimming the glass)
  • Lime wedge (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Glass:
    • Run a lime wedge around the rim of a cocktail glass (traditionally a coupe or margarita glass).
    • Dip the rim into a plate of coarse salt to coat it evenly. Set the glass aside.
  2. Mix the Cocktail:
    • In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and agave syrup (if using).
    • Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and mix.
  3. Serve:
    • Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice (optional, if you like it on the rocks).
    • Strain the cocktail into the glass.
  4. Garnish:
    • Add a lime wedge or wheel on the rim of the glass.
  5. Enjoy:
    • Serve immediately and savor your freshly made Margarita!

Tips:

  • Adjust the lime juice and agave syrup to suit your taste.
  • For a frozen Margarita, blend all the ingredients with a cup of ice instead of shaking.
  • Try experimenting with flavored salts for the rim, such as chili-lime salt, for a twist.
