Ingredients

  • 2 oz (60 ml) White Rum
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 2 tsp Granulated Sugar (or 1/2 oz Simple Syrup)
  • 6–8 Fresh Mint Leaves
  • Club Soda (to top)
  • Ice (crushed or cubed)
  • Mint Sprig and Lime Wedge (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Muddle mint and sugar:
In a sturdy glass (like a highball), add the mint leaves, sugar (or simple syrup), and lime juice. Gently muddle the mint with a muddler or spoon to release its oils, but avoid tearing the leaves too much.
  2. Add rum and ice:
Pour in the white rum, then fill the glass with ice (preferably crushed for the best texture).
  3. Top with club soda:
Stir gently to combine, and top off with a splash of club soda.
  4. Garnish and serve:
Garnish with a sprig of mint and a lime wedge. Optionally, give the mint sprig a gentle slap between your hands to release its aroma before adding it.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing blend!

Tips:

  • For added sweetness, you can rim the glass with sugar before assembling the drink.
  • If you prefer a fruitier twist, try muddling some fresh berries (like strawberries or raspberries) along with the mint.
